We are beginning a five week journey through six of the non-Pauline letters. Our purpose will be to look a little deeper into what it means to be a Christian. We will look into 1 & 2 Peter; 1, 2 & 3 John; and Hebrews.

***The Truth:
 
Things to think about!
 
Darkness – liar & not know truth (1 John 1:6)
Claim no sin – deceive ourselves (1 John 1:8)
Claim have not sinned – make God a liar (1 John 1:10)
Does not obey his commandments is a liar (1John 2:4)
He who commits sin is a child of the devil (1 John 3:8)
All who hate a brother/sister is a murderer(1 John 3:15)
Whoever does not love does not know God (1 John 4:8)
I love God but hate my brother – Is a liar (1 John 4:20)
 
“Those who have been born of God do not sin, because God’s seed abides in hem, they cannot sin,
because they have been born of God.”
(1 John 3:9)
 
Thing to do considering God is light à No darkness
(a) Struggle to avoid individual acts of sin.
(B) We must humbly confess our lapses (sins) to God
who will always (j) _______ the penitent heart.
(C) No Christian – a (k) ______ and consistent sinner
(D) No Christian can live a life in which sin is
